Jazz & The City Band is a New York City–based ensemble of dedicated musicians who are spending their lives studying, performing, and carrying forward the tradition of jazz. It is a lifelong pursuit—and, as any serious artist will tell you, the work is never quite finished.
We are jazz artists, through and through. This music is our specialty, our profession, and the language we speak best. We bring to every occasion the same musicianship, spontaneity, and genuine love for the music that we bring to the bandstand—because jazz has a way of knowing when someone means it.
Our musicians can regularly be heard at renowned NYC venues such as Smalls, Mezzrow, Smoke, and Ornithology, as well as at jazz festivals around the world—performing alongside respected jazz artists and contributing to the city’s celebrated jazz scene.
